Ed holds numerous realtor designations and is also a state certified Real Estate Instructor and he teaches at the Real Estate School of South Carolina. He loves to introduce new professionals into the career field. Additionally, as a company trainer and coach, Ed molds new agents into well trained professionals. A real estate investor himself, Ed specializes in advising clients investing and creating wealth in real estate. He is experienced in remodeling to flip and rental portfolio building. He is also an expert at investing in real estate within self-directed IRA’s and 401K plans and 1031 tax free exchanges. With his strong technology background, Ed has been able to incorporate technology into every aspect of his real estate business. He implements innovative marketing techniques which assist sellers in lower than average days on the market and buyers in reducing the time spent looking for the perfect property. He also simplifies the relocation process for out of town clients by utilizing technology resources to provide useful information for relocating families. Use of advanced technology enables him to provide a one-of-a-kind service to all his clients. He provides the ability to receive (via daily email) the latest property listings as they come on the market straight from the MLS or gives clients a powerful, yet simplified access directly to all the Columbia area MLS listings.
Ed entered the real estate profession after retiring from the United States Air Force, where his specialty was computers and communications systems. He is a South Carolina native, who grew up in Charleston, and a 1981 graduate of The Citadel with a degree in Math and Computer Science. He also earned a graduate degree from the USAF Institute of Technology, a Masters Degree in Operations Research. Ed maintains an active role within the community through affiliations with the Central Carolina Board of Realtors, Consolidated MLS, Historic Columbia Foundation, Home Builders Association, Habitat for Humanity, Disabled American Veterans Association, Fisher House, and as a leader with the Boy Scouts of America.
